Home Exercises: Week 19

Hello Cheyne Gang!

This week we have another breathing exercise that Anne filmed with Julie, Kathy & Clare and two songs from Kathy and her band to keep The Cheyne Gang singing at home!

We also have two songs that Jaci has chosen for you all to enjoy at home!

Please note that these videos were filmed in a well ventilated space and social distancing was adhered to at all times.

Hamster Cheeks

Julie talks Kathy and Clare through a breathing exercise that may be familiar to some of you.

Next, we have two excellent songs from Kathy & her band!

Videos From Kathy , Ali Rae and Ken: Greenhouse Sessions. Sing Along!

You Are My Sunshine

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine

You make me happy when skies are grey

You’ll never know Dear, how much I love you

Please don’t take my sunshine away.

You told me once , Dear, there’d be no other

And no one else could come between

But now you’ve left me to love another

You have broken all my dreams.

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine

You make me happy when skies are grey

You’ll never know Dear, how much I love you

Please don’t take my sunshine away.

I’ll always love you and make you happy

If you would only do the same

But if you leave me how it will grieve me

Never more I’ll breathe your name.

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine

You make me happy when skies are grey

You’ll never know Dear, how much I love you

Please don’t take my sunshine away.

Que Sera, Sera

When I was just a little girl, I asked my mother what will I be?

Will I be pretty, will I be rich?

Here’s what she said to me:

Que sera sera, whatever will be will be

The future’s not ours to see

Que sera sera – what will be will be.

When I grew up and fell in love, I asked my sweetheart: what lies ahead?

Will we have rainbows day after day?

Here’s what my sweetheart said:

Que sera sera, whatever will be will be

The future’s not ours to see

Que sera sera – what will be will be.

Now I have children of my own

They ask their mother : What will I be?

Will I be handsome, will I be rich?

I tell them tenderly

Que sera sera, whatever will be will be

The future’s not ours to see

Que sera sera – what will be will be.

And finally here are a few songs that Jaci has chosen for you to enjoy at home.

Judie Tzuke, Beverley Craven & Julia Fordham - 'Safe'

"I was lucky enough to see all 3 live in the 80s and then, recently when they came together at the Queens Hall singing this. They were just fabulous."

Sing in the City Aw Blacks Dream Catch me - Newton Faulkner

''I'd never heard this song "Dream Catch Me" by Newton Faulkener. I absolutely love it and love singing it with my fellow Aw Blacks especially on that Festival Theatre stage, still gives me goosebumps 😊''
